Earlier this month the members of Yeti took a camping trip up to the northern border of California: Lassen Volcanic Park.
After a five and a half hour road trip from San Francisco we finally reached Lassen (one of the least visited parks in the nation) at nightfall. We pitched our tents by headlamp and torchlight, started a fire and viewed the milkyway unobscured by light or other pollutants.
The next morning after a greasy breakfast we left camp and hiked to the top of Mount Harkness. The summit offered a view unlike anything in the city: a huge sprawl of forest, volcanic mountains and pristine lakes.
Roughing it in the outdoors offered an unseen benefit to Yeti, in spending a weekend together outside of the office we each gained a deeper understanding of what each of us brings to the organization. For example, when a project manager knows what kind of development work goes into a particular project they can better communicate with the client and the development team to make sure that the project moves forward smoothly.
Yeti offers clients something that many other development firms don't: a professional team that works closely with each other to deliver the best product possible. Outsourcing development or design risks the quality of the project each time it is passed from one set of hands to the next. Yeti's production team all reside in one office within arms reach (and slapping distance) of each other. Decisions and actions can be made quickly without waiting for someone in another office (or country) to deliver their contribution and development can continue unsnagged. Ultimately, both time and money are saved when you choose Yeti to take on your project, and our obsession with delivering a high quality product is how we sleep at night.
