Change Engine is an innovative HR company dedicated to revolutionizing organizational management practices, with a focus on driving positive change within workplaces. They offer a comprehensive suite of solutions designed to enhance employee engagement, foster diversity and inclusion, and streamline communication processes.
As a growing HR company, the Change Engine team was seeking avenues to broaden their audience and customer base. To achieve this goal, they devised a strategic plan: offer a free suite of free HR tools that introduced users to Change Engine's comprehensive management solutions while additionally acting as potent lead generation tools that could enhance their visibility and outreach efforts.
To help them reach this goal, the Yeti team came onboard with the challenge of developing a series of engaging, user-friendly tools that would showcase the breadth of Change Engine's offerings, and encourage users to further explore the platform. To be successful, these tools additionally needed to be designed to function as effective marketing assets that could be easily shared across various channels, encouraging users to spread their positive experiences, ultimately amplifying brand visibility and driving organic growth.
Essentially, our challenge was twofold: Create functional HR tools that could strategically enhance product awareness and attract users to Change Engine's SaaS platform.
Our first step in building out Change Engine's suite of tools was the Employee Appreciator- an HR tool that facilitates and optimizes internal communications within organizations. This tool was introduced as a way for HR teams to automatically generate celebratory content for employees' promotions, birthdays, and anniversaries, so, we developed a robust set of features including menu components, color pickers, and image upload functionalities - while additionally assisting with the design of the content assets included in the tool. Building on Phase One, our next challenge was to enhance the Employee Appreciator by optimizing it for mobile platforms and creating a holiday and DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) planning tool. Here, our primary goal was to enhance inclusivity and cultural awareness within the workplace while streamlining the communication and celebration of important dates.
The Comms Calendar is designed to help organizations keep track of and celebrate regional and international holidays through custom content, promoting acknowledgment of diverse cultures and nationalities within the company. Within the tool, HR teams can customize the selection of countries, the content generated for each DEIB initiative, and the branding to ensure alignment with their corporate identity. The Comms Calendar additionally facilitates the creation and sharing of holiday announcements and content via various channels such as email, newsletters, and messaging platforms like Slack.
The outcomes of each Change Engine tool launch have been met with resounding success. Alongside the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from users, these tools have proven instrumental in enhancing brand visibility and driving organic growth for the Change Engine team. In earlier phases of our collaboration, we developed several tools that allowed HR teams to celebrate employee milestones and send internal communications around global holidays and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) days. These tools successfully fostered employee engagement while demonstrating the full potential of Change Engine’s broader capabilities.
Building on this success, Change Engine identified the need for a more comprehensive, standalone tool—the Content Hub—to further increase user sign-ups and provide HR teams with a streamlined, intuitive tool to handle content creation challenges they were facing daily.
The vision for the Content Hub was to empower HR professionals to easily create branded content for diverse organizational needs, whether for driving referrals, boosting hiring, or promoting internal programs. It needed to be an all-in-one platform that handled content creation, customization, and distribution—all while subtly guiding users back to Change Engine’s core HR management products.
Faced with the need to simplify content creation for HR teams while additionally managing a massive library of templates, we developed the Content Hub—a web-based tool that seamlessly integrates the creation, management, and distribution of branded graphical content. Our primary focus with Content Hub was to provide HR professionals with immediate value, while additionally driving leads and converting users to the full Change Engine suite of tools.
With thousands of unique design templates, managing the library efficiently was essential for providing a seamless experience. To achieve this, we leveraged Airtable as the foundation of the content library, enabling the Change Engine team to easily tag, update, and organize assets. This approach kept content fresh, relevant, and easily accessible for users.
One of our main technical challenges with Content Hub was optimizing image load times. Due to the vast image library and third-party integrations, load times were initially slow. To address this, we implemented a strategy to load essential content first, with additional content loading in the background. This approach significantly improved image load speed and user experience, ensuring a seamless content creation process.
For content customization, we integrated Design Huddle, enabling users to easily modify templates to suit their branding needs. Using the BrandKit feature, company logos, fonts, and colors are automatically applied, ensuring brand consistency throughout the platform. This integration allowed HR teams to produce polished, on-brand materials in a matter of minutes—significantly boosting their productivity while maintaining a professional image across all communications.
A key goal was to consolidate the entire content creation, editing, and sharing process into one cohesive platform. By unifying these tools, the Content Hub eliminated the need for HR professionals to navigate multiple platforms, saving significant time and reducing complexity.
With everything accessible through an intuitive interface, users could manage their entire content creation process with ease—from designing social posts to generating print materials. This streamlined approach saved time and eliminated complexity, offering HR teams a frustration-free experience.
One challenge we faced in consolidating the entire content creation process within a single platform was enabling users to share images directly to social media platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram. Through research, we discovered that many social media APIs restrict programmatic sharing of captions alongside images, meaning users could upload images but were unable to include custom captions. While we initially considered allowing users to share just the image, we realized that without a caption, these posts would not effectively drive engagement or direct users back to the Change Engine app—our primary objective in enabling social sharing.
To address this limitation, we integrated a tool called Switchy, which allows users to enter their desired caption in a text field, so that both the image and caption can be shared together on the selected social media platform. This approach maintained the seamless user experience and fulfilled our goal of using social media as an effective funnel for Change Engine.
To make sure we had a seamless onboarding, we integrated Auth0 for secure and efficient authentication. By using work email domains, the platform automatically pulled in brand colors and logos, allowing users to begin creating branded content immediately without manual setup. This frictionless onboarding minimized barriers, allowing users to dive straight into content creation within minutes.
From there, users are taken to the homepage, where they can browse content templates that already have their branding applied. Administrators have the ability to set up multiple ways to explore content, including:
The Content Hub also offered curated content based on user goals. Upon onboarding, users could define key objectives, such as increasing engagement or streamlining onboarding. Based on their selections, the platform recommended specific content types or full content kits. These kits, tailored to specific goals (e.g., driving referrals), provided everything users needed to execute effective campaigns—from email templates to instructional materials.
The platform’s collaborative features empowered HR teams to work together seamlessly, enabling real-time feedback and co-editing. This allowed teams to finalize content faster, ensure consistent branding, and improve the overall quality of their campaigns.
With the Content Hub, HR teams were equipped with a powerful, user-friendly platform that drastically simplified their workflows, empowering them to create high-quality content with ease. This all-in-one solution not only boosted productivity but also allowed HR professionals to focus on what matters most—fostering meaningful employee engagement and driving organizational success.
